ENSINGER/PennFibre announces availability of Pennite® 4512, thermoformable PA6.

ENSINGER/PennFibre, the global leader in High Performance Forming Materials, has broadened their thermoformable nylon offerings with the addition of PENNITE® 4512. PENNITE® 4512 is a type 6 nylon with 12% glass fiber reinforcement, it is thermally and impact modified and black pigmented for service applications.

PENNITE® 4512 offers an excellent balance of engineering properties combined with a superior melt strength ideally suited to engineered thermoforming products. PENNITE® 4512 exhibits improved strength, stiffness, and creep resistance compared to other nylons used in thermoforming and fabrication. PENNITE® 4512 provides outstanding permeability and chemical resistance to oils, hydrocarbons, and most solvents. PENNITE® 4512 is designed as a cost effective thermoplastic for metal replacement and is ideal for automotive applications such as air ducts, radiator shrouds, fuel cells, covers, structural components and reservoirs.

ENSINGER/PennFibre became the global leader in thermoformable nylons with the introduction of Pennite® 4508 in February of 2003. PENNITE® 4512 is a higher performance formula with enhanced heat deflection temperature, greater elongation, tensile and flexural strength, than the 4508 formula. PENNITE® 4512 was developed to meet the increasing demand for even higher performance characteristics for formable nylons as their usage continues to grow in more demanding applications.

As with their other products, PENNITE® 4512 is available in both sheet and roll form from .010in(0.25mm) to .250in(6.35mm) thick in standard and custom widths up to 50in(1250mm). Standard sizes are available from stock with no or very low minimums required. A complete data sheet and guidelines for drying and thermoforming of Pennite® 4512 are available on request.
